To honor the 50th anniversary of Lillstreet Art Center and document the budding partnership between Good Chaos and Lillstreet, we worked with local director Gabriel Cuiller to produce a short documentary.
Dream a Lill: 50 Years of Molding Makers is a 30-minute film featuring Bruce Robbins, founder of Lillstreet, sharing his story about the art center’s inception and evolution since 1975. Throughout the film, artists from all disciplines, such as Theaster Gates, Steven Lee, Kirin Kane, and more, share their testimonials about Lillstreet’s magic and the role it played in their career development.
In September 2025, Good Chaos hosted a spectacular celebration in honor of Lillstreet’s 50th Anniversary and the short documentary. The enthusiasm of the standing-room-only crowd, coupled with the documentary premiere, showed that Chicagoans are passionate about creating with their hands and having spaces to do so.
Looking ahead, Dream A Lill is being submitted to film festivals across the nation, and Good Chaos will partner with local creative spaces and venues to host public screenings and programs that pair with the themes explored in the film.
